Councilor Dan Ryan, chair of the PCL Allocation Committee, explains his funding decisions.

Allocation Committee members voted unanimously to approve $65 million in grants to 94 programs supporting children and families in the City of Portland.

The grants for 64 different organizations are planned to start July 1 and provide funding for three years. The Allocation Committee’s grant decisions next need to be approved by Portland City Council (the meeting date will be listed on the PCL website when it’s confirmed).

City of Portland governmental transition

Starting July 1, the Portland Children’s Levy will become part of the Community and Economic Development service area in the City of Portland’s new governmental structure. Until then, PCL will remain in the Vibrant Communities service area, which will be dissolved starting the next fiscal year. Budgetary and other impacts of the change are not yet known.
