Event Sponsorships

The Portland Children’s Levy sponsors events from nonprofits serving children and families within the City of Portland boundaries related to Levy program areas: after school, child abuse prevention and intervention, early childhood, foster care, hunger relief and mentoring.

PCL will award 20 sponsorships of $500 each fiscal year to nonprofit organizations that are not current recipients of large or small grants. Sponsorships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying organizations and are often distributed within a few hours of the opening time. Please see below for requirements and instructions.

The June 2026 sponsorship round for events scheduled for July 1 to Dec. 31, 2026 is closed. We are processing requests in the order they were received. We expect to open the next round of event sponsorships in late 2026 for events Jan. 1 to June 30, 2027.

Eligibility

Please review the following requirements before requesting a sponsorship:

• Organizations or their fiscal sponsors must be a tax-exempt nonprofit.
• Organizations must be a registered nonprofit with the Oregon Secretary of State. 
• Organizations must not be current PCL large or small grant recipients.
• Organizations must serve City of Portland youth and families, and sponsored events must relate to a PCL program area: after school, child abuse prevention and intervention, early childhood, foster care, hunger relief or mentoring.
• Organizations must use the PCL name/logo to promote PCL in electronic and/or print event material, collateral and notices.
• PCL funding shall not go toward any alcoholic beverages.
• Organizations must not discriminate based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or disability.
• Organizations must not benefit or promote any political ideology or religious doctrine.
• PCL sponsorships shall not exceed $500 per event.
• The sponsorship must be for a one-time event and not for programming.
• An organization may only receive one sponsorship every 12 months. 
• Organizations must accept credit cards for payment. (PCL cannot pay processing fees.)
• PCL reserves the final right to accept or reject any request.

While not required, the Levy requests:

• Photos of the sponsored event for use in Levy social media posts.
• Tag or mention PCL at least once when posting event information on social media.

How to apply

To request a sponsorship, you must:

• Submit the request electronically on organization letterhead.
• In your request, include: name of your organization; date of the request; request the $500 amount; time, date, location, and purpose of the event, and specifics on what the sponsorship will be used to support. Specify 1 or more of PCL’s 6 program areas your organization qualifies under and the services your organization provides in that program area.
• Include details regarding how you will use the PCL name/logo.
