City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved $71 million in grants from the Portland Children’s Levy to support therapeutic services for foster youth, home visiting and parent education programs, school food pantries, after school music and sports programs and more.

On June 4, City Council voted 7-5 to remand the Allocation Committee’s funding decisions for reconsideration pending further instructions. Staff reviewed the financial context, competing priorities, the concerns raised by City Council, information provided to Council to address concerns and next steps.

More than 70 programs will continue to receive funding for services such as after school science and art programs, youth mentoring, school food pantries, home visiting programs for parents and more.

Applications are due 11:59 p.m. PST Nov. 4, 2024. Applications will only be accepted through the WebGrants online application portal, and applicants must register for WebGrants by Oct. 21, 2024.
