Quality services for children in foster care have a multi-layered effect for both the child and society: increased school success and graduation rates, decreased juvenile crime and substance abuse rates and lower ratres of child maltreatment.
FOSTER CARE OUTCOMES (from 2011-12)
Achieve
90 percent of children improved their school behavior/academic success in Levy programs that measure this outcome.
Acquire
86 percent of children in foster care improved their school stability in Levy programs that measured this outcome.
Accomplish
96 percent of birth parents improved their parenting skills in Levy programs that measure this outcome.
Attain
There were no substantiated reports of child abuse for 100 percent of families within six months of reuniting with their biological children in Levy programs that measure this outcome.
